Carla has worked at WHMC as supplemental staff in the acute care area of the hospital since 2008, mainly on weekends. She actively practices throughout the region, providing a wealth of experience. For Carla, the patient is of utmost importance, and care is provided to meet the needs of the whole individual.
Prior work experience:
Carla worked for Moses Cone Health System in Greensboro, NC in the accredited inpatient rehabilitation facility (a specialized unit within the hospital) for many years, but also spent significant time in the acute care and subacute care settings of the hospital. During this time she spent 5 years as Center Coordinator for Clinical Education. She also has experience working in a long term care setting. In addition, early in her career, Carla spent over 2 years providing contract home health Physical Therapy services.
Carla has treated a wide variety of patient diagnoses including spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, strokes, various neurological conditions, cardiac, medical-surgical, orthopaedics, oncology and wound care. She has experience performing serial casting of lower extremities, wheelchair prescription and home evaluations.
